Thank you, John. It's much appreciated to have you stop by the Substack. And, yes, the internet and a constant stream of 16:9 videos is quite depressing! I enjoy longer-form creative sharing. It's an opportunity to widen the lens, so to speak.

We have had a 'tame' robin for several years now, much longer than they are supposed to live! It has reared many chicks. Most days it briefly comes and grips your fingers with it's little talons and eats a few meal worms or sunflower seeds or takes them to its young. In summer it comes into the kitchen and sometimes explores the rest of the house.

Hi John, and Happy New Year! Wow, that's amazing to hear about your Robin. What a treat to have a connection like that; I'd love it! Ours marches about along the back fence, waiting for the bigger birds to eat from the feeders, and then cleans up after them. They are a bit wary of my dog Teddy, though. He's a greyhound and also enjoys crumbs from the feeders...generally, he wins, territorially speaking!
